From FierceAnimalHealth: A new drug called PAC-1, which was originally tested in dogs with osteosarcoma, is now entering a phase 1 clinical trial in humans. PAC-1 is designed to prompt cancer cells to self-destruct while sparing healthy cells, according to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where the discovery was made. The drug has shown promise in treating dogs with osteosarcoma and will initially be tested in people with advanced malignancies. Read more here.
